I am very grateful for the Coffee Bunker and its service to military veterans.

I moved to Oklahoma in January 2016 and learned about the Coffee Bunker through Volunteers of America and the Veterans Hospital. I moved to Oklahoma with my two year old to attend Rhema Bible Training Center. This whole experience has been gratifying to learn how God works and how much he loves us.

We moved here with two suitcases and the clothes on our backs believing God for an apartment, a car and a job to supplement my disability income. We were evicted from the first apartment I had after a month of residence. With all of my things in my car, I cried in desperation trying to figure out what happened. After spending a little over $250 in application fees for various apartments and denied for every one due to my credit situation, I called the Coffee Bunker. That same day, Scott Blackburn reserved a hotel room for my son and me!  After about a week at the hotel, I found the apartment we currently live in. The car I had which was paid for crashed on the highway; I got a brand new car and a job all at the same time!

I was in need of many things for my apartment and the Coffee Bunker assisted me in getting furniture and appliances, including a new vacuum cleaner, a dining table and chairs, home décor items, food and a television. At a time when my son was on his last diaper, we were able to purchase more diapers through donations received.

In conclusion, I would like to thank the founders and supporters of this organization who empower veterans to sustainability. Without organizations such as this, I believe veterans would not have the support needed to move toward gainful employment and live independently of the government system.

Thank you for everything!
