April’s Story
“When I first came to the Coffee Bunker, I was at the end of my rope. I had been homeless and living in my SUV with my dogs since July; and when I lost my job, I nearly let go. I sat in the parking lot for an hour talking myself into going inside, hoping the Coffee Bunker wouldn’t be like the other organizations that I had reached out to and been turned away from. Within minutes of coming in, I received more help and support than I had in the 7 months I was homeless. Coming to the Coffee Bunker is the best decision I’ve made in a long while. Not only did I reach out to them, but they reached for me and pulled me back from the edge. I can almost guarantee you that if it weren’t for the Coffee Bunker, I would be one of the 22*.”
